Design Concepts
These are a selection of unused designs that at some stage stood a real chance of being realised as finished windows but for one reason or another (for good or for bad) weren't commissioned, usually either down to another competitor's design being chosen instead or the client preferring a more radical reworking of my own submission.
Very often this is down to personal tastes, what might have been accepted on one project may not be supported by another client, or it could simply be that the decisions made in a design simply were not considered right for that building, and however hard one tries to keep this in mind, the hardest part is sometimes convincing others that your design is the right one and will bring something positive to the space.
Whilst it is always disappointing to have a design that goes no further than the paper stage, there is always hope that such ideas can be reused or inform future projects (as happened with my Lamb of God window at Devall's Funeral Directors, adapted from my rejected design for St Mary Magadalene's, Lillington).
